Heart Beat

With much anticipation, we heard the heartbeat of our little tiny miracle at our 12 week appointment. It was beating at a rapid, healthy, strong 166 bpm. During the same week my Grandpa Gill passed away which brought the whole family together to celebrate his life and remember the good times we all shared with him. During this time however, Leanne and I told our extended family and friends that we are expecting a miracle in May. This news put a smile on our families faces and gave us all an opportunity to celebrate something during a time of grief. Our next anticipated appointment is in 4 short weeks.

Second Appointment

Today we had our second doctor's appointment. After about an hours wait in the office, the nurse appeared with a doppler and found the little bean's heartbeat in about 4 mins. It registered 166 bpm and sounded more like a running horse than a heartbeat by she assured me it was normal, healthy and strong.

I am so excited to learn that everything is progressing normally and that our little bean is healthy and strong.

Telling our Moms

On Saturday, October 11th we told our Moms they were going to be Grandmothers. They were both ecstatic and excited about the news of the upcoming grandchild - maybe even more excited than we were when we found out. Sometimes I think we are both still in shock rather than utter excitement. We are looking forward to sharing the news with the rest of our family in November.

First Picture

On October 6 we had our first official doctors appointment. The visit went well and at the end of the appointment we were able to have an ultrasound. The ultrasound confirmed everything. At 132 bpm our little bean was starting to develop. Our next visit comes in about 4 weeks. Our next ultrasounds are going to be with a specialist because we need to be extra cautious about the heart developing properly.

We have also decided to tell our parents on Monday. We still think its too early to tell friends quite yet but we are planning on telling everyone around Thanksgiving.

Starting out slow....

This is our first official tracker! We found out we were pregnant on September 10th and can't be more excited. The first doctor's appointment is on October 6th. All we can do is wait and hope for the best.
